It is the intention of this web site to serve as a public arena for those who have felt the sting of injustice and have been egregiously abused by the process. "Legal Process" is meant to be a formula by which we arrive at the truth and thereby, justice. Unfortunately, neither the formula, nor the scales of justice are balanced. The only balanced equation is: "Justice Delayed=Justice Denied!" We must expose those within our judicial system who have "lost their way" and need to be reacquainted with ethics so that they may find their way back onto the path to justice. See: "Hall of Shame." Many have become self-serving and corrupted, and have thereby failed each of us. It is our desire to enlist the support of legal professionals who have not become jaded or corrupted by the system, and who still have a fire in their belly, and ethics in their arsenal for unequivocal justice. It is our sincere hope that this will develop from a weblog of independent voices into a national chorus insistent upon change.
Furthermore, we must serve notice upon those institutions charged with the education of those seeking a career in the legal profession that ethics must become a dominant and overriding theme in their curriculum! Our system is based on English law and stems from the Magna Carta and from a time when there were cogent speakers among men who were "asked" to speak for those who toiled the fields and were less capable of representing themselves.
America has five percent of the world's population and seventy-five percent of the world's attorneys. As a percentage of its population, America incarcerates more of its citizens than Russia and China combined. We have turned our court system into "big business" and created a economic moebius that hungers for more prisons, and thirsts for more prisoners to fill them. This is most certainly not the stimulus package, nor the economic development that we want to see for our nation. Let's get back to producing tangible goods, and stop warehousing human beings.
